Curtis Frederick Perry Bermuda 2016[Augustus Funeral Home]

Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Dr. Curtis Frederick Perry

Curtis Frederick Perry, age 45, of Spanish Point, passed away peacefully March 3 at Agape House due to cancer.  Born in Hamilton, Canada, Curtis always found time for adventures, both large and small. His adventurous nature took him on various paths including experience in the Canadian military; a decade in Glasgow, Scotland where he gained his Doctor of Optometry degree and British citizenship; and on to Bermuda in 2014 where he was an optometrist at Argus optical. Curtis loved living in Bermuda: he loved the kindness of the people, enjoyed seeing his patients, and swimming at Admiralty House Park.  He also liked to walk and could often be seen walking at the side of the road in his Tilley hat.  A testament to his strength of character, Curtis’ friends were life-long, and he had dear friends in many countries.  Above all, Curtis was a dedicated family man, and his fondest adventures were those that made the everyday extraordinary with his wife and sons. He enjoyed home cooked meals and taking apart old electronic equipment with his young sons.  Survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Rebecca [nee Wiebe], and their two sons Andrew, age 9, and Stuart, age 7; his parents Catherine Curtis, and Douglas Perry; his siblings Benjamin [Gabriella], and Caetie [Shawn]. Son-in-law to Albert and Carol Wiebe, and brother-in-law to Ericka [Tim], John, Kristine [Rob], and Peter.  Curtis has a large and caring extended family, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as his niece and nephews will miss his presence.

A service will be held Tuesday, March 8th at 10am at the Evangelical Church of Bermuda, Paget.

A Canadian service will take place in Guelph, Canada at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
