It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and friend William Herbert Whitehurst III [“Billy Bird”], in his 66th year, of 14 Cedars Lane, Sandy’s; beloved husband of 38 years to Carla Whitehurst; wonderful father to Sharia, Joel [Tiffany], Dr. Danielle, and Lorenzo [Mayah] Whitehurst, and Dr. Jasmine Wong [Dr. Brandon]; son of William Whitehurst Jr. and the late Brinnie Whitehurst [nee Harris]; son-in-law of James [Jim] Godwin and the late Mae Godwin [nee Webb].
He will be missed by his beloved grandchildren Brinnie and Titus Whitehurst, and Jade Wong; and by his sister-in-law Evelyn Minors [the late Michael] and beloved niece Alexis Minors; his brother-in-law Dr Amenemhet Tamerry [Maatkari]; his sisters in Washington DC, Angeline, Donna, and the late Joyce Whitehurst, and Arlene Cooper [David], and by his beloved nieces Yael, Melody, Elizabeth and Olivia Cooper.
He will be remembered by his wonderful Bermuda relatives: the Webb, Godwin, Sealey, Minors, and Richards families; and by his many Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia relatives: the Whitehurst and Harris extended families.
He will be missed by his good buddies: Hilton [Gail], Reggie [Phoebe], Aadrienne [Rachael], Brian [Sherry], Vorhees [Deborah], Jody [Cathy], Mrs. Hassell, Nu, Kim Ooi [Jane], Charles, Keith, Termite, Howard, Smiley, Eardley, Gino, Delmont, Isaac, James, Kent, Ernesto; and his many other construction buddies; wonderful Susana of BOSS; and his many more friends too numerous to mention; as well as by his kind next door neighbours: the Vallis, Ratteray and Burrows families; and all the friendly Cedars Lane-West Side Road neighbours.
He will especially be missed by “Carla’s smelly dog”- Maxi, who Billy loved dearly.
There will be no viewing. A Bermuda Celebration of Billy’s Life will be held on Zoom on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 3:00pm BDA time [2pm EST]. Zoom Meeting ID: 245 607 1611. Please join the family and share your happy memories of Billy. There will be a funeral service in Virginia at a later date.
